There is therefore now, no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. – Romans 8:1
Have you ever read this Scripture?
If you’re someone who is feeling like you’ve blown it, messed up or gone backwards beyond repair, this is a great promise.
It literally means, there is no judgement for you.
You’re not stuck in the mud.
You’re not even lost.
You can literally change your mind (repent, metanoia) and begin walking in the right direction COMPLETELY FREE FROM ANY TIES TO WHAT YOU JUST DID.
Wow. That sounds so beyond understanding but that’s how good our Savior Jesus Christ is and how complete the finished work on the cross is.
And here’s a little secret:
When the Word says “there is no condemnation” it’s not only for you….it’s for all the people you will reach today.
Yes, there are people you’re supposed to encourage, lift up and pull out of darkness but how can you do that if you’re feeling condemned because the enemy is whispering, “Hey dummy, who do you think you are to proclaim freedom to your friend who is struggling? You don’t have freedom. You just lost your temper five minutes ago.”
The enemy will try to keep us feeling lost, like we don’t really have the solution. He will remind us of our past mistakes so we will feel paralyzed and unable to help others.
That’s why the Word says “There’s no condemnation for us!” So we won’t waste any time feeling defeated!
Did you mess up?….Start again!
Did you fall down?…Stand back up!
Did you say something dumb?….Apologize!
Did you drive right into the mud?…Turn around!
There’s NO CONDEMNATION waiting for you!
There’s no lecture and no punishment from your Father! He already paid the price, so be grateful, make amends, and turn around.
It’s as easy and as hard as that!
